Something shifts when women move together. If your body has been carrying more than words can hold, Dance to heal is for you โ a place to move, feel, and find your way back to yourself.
Dance to Heal is a trauma-informed somatic movement program for women of all backgrounds and abilities, created by Sandra Barbosa and Ana Lucia Silva. No dance experience required โ just a willingness to show up as you are.
Each session opens with a theme โ an intention to move with. If you feel like sharing, you're welcome to โ everything stays within the group. We breathe, we ground, and then we explore through movement, writing, or drawing โ sometimes solo, sometimes together.
Each session creates space to move, express, and release.
There is no right or wrong way to move. No comparison, no judgment โ just you, exactly as you are.
Women on their own paths, carrying their own stories, choosing to show up anyway. You'll find your people here.
Listen to what your body is holding and gently let it move.
Use music and movement as a language beyond words.
Grounded in Polyvagal Theory to help you feel safe in your body.
A space where women hold space for each other, without judgment.
From your body, your joy, or yourself. Movement can open a door that words can't always find.
Transition, grief, burnout, recovery โ your body needs to process too.
A safe space with other women who get it. No performance, no pretending.
This isn't about technique. It's about presence. You belong here.
Dance transcends language. Come as you are, from wherever you're from.
Every session is held around an intention โ an emotion, a theme, a question. Sandra introduces it, and whoever wants to share, shares. No pressure, just presence.
Before anything else, we ground. Breath work brings you out of your head and into your body โ the place where the real work happens.
Sandra guides activities woven around the session theme โ somatic movement, free-form dance, rhythm work, solo or in group. Sometimes we also write or draw. Each session creates space to move, express, and release.
A gentle closing to notice what shifted. You share only what you choose. Witnessing is always enough. Sessions run fortnightly at Naala Djookan Healing Centre, Mirrabooka, Perth. Come once or make it a ritual โ both are welcome.
Counsellor ยท Somatic Movement Facilitator ยท Group Therapist
Sandra Barbosa is a Brazilian-born counsellor and somatic movement facilitator who believes the body already holds everything it needs to heal โ it just needs permission to move.
Having lived across five countries, she brings a global heart and a deeply grounded presence to every space she holds. Her work bridges science and soul โ combining trauma-informed counselling, neuroscience-based mindfulness, and expressive movement into spaces where women feel safe enough to feel and grow.
A woman who has walked her own path of transformation, she meets every woman she connects with exactly where they are โ with empathy, presence, and a deep knowing that change is possible.
Dance to Heal was born from a collaboration between Sandra Barbosa and Ana Lucia Silva. Sandra now carries this vision forward, holding and growing this space.
Healing unfolds โ one heartbeat, one breath, one dance at a time.
Something shifts when women move together. Come feel it.

I have never enjoyed dancing before I met Sandra. She guides through many ways to enjoy dancing, being yourself and expressing your feelings and emotions in dancing. I love our crazy dance and looking forward to the next session.
Sandra is an amazing facilitator. The Movement of Becoming is a space where you feel truly heard, deepen your self-awareness, and reconnect with your joy.
I've met wonderful people here and learned how to be more connected with my own body. I want to understand myself a little more.
Thank you so much for last night ๐๐พ. I was literally in despair and in tears 2 hours before. The beautiful collective feminine energy lifted my vibration. You saw how we all connected at the end, smiling and laughing together. ๐
Dance to Heal is a path of no return! When you try it, it transforms! Yes, because it is experience, conscious and present. It is a movement guided not only by Sandra's competence and professionalism, but by the energy and love that she delivers in her practice. Long live to the Movement of Becoming โค๏ธ
No dance experience needed โ at all. Dance to Heal is an invitation to explore your own body's movement, in your own way. There are no steps to follow, no technique to master, no right or wrong way to express yourself. This is your body, your language, your pace. All you need is the willingness to arrive.
Every session is built around a theme โ an emotion, an intention, a question to explore. Sandra opens the space, shares the theme, and invites whoever wants to share to do so. We then breathe together to arrive and ground. From there, Sandra guides activities connected to the theme โ somatic movement, free-form dance, rhythm work, sometimes writing or drawing, sometimes moving solo, sometimes in group. Each session closes gently, with space to notice what shifted. You share only what you choose.
Dance to Heal is therapeutic โ but it is not therapy. It's a trauma-informed somatic movement space where the body is invited to express, release, and heal through movement. Sandra is a trained counsellor and somatic movement facilitator who holds the space with deep care and skill. Many women find it profoundly complementary to their existing therapeutic work. If you're currently working with a therapist or healthcare provider, this can sit beautifully alongside that.

It's very common โ and it's exactly what this space is for. Dance to Heal is a place to feel, to process, and to let go. When emotions rise through movement, that's the body doing what it knows how to do. Tears, laughter, release โ all of it is welcome here. Sandra holds the space with warmth and skill, and the group creates a quiet container of safety and respect. You will never be pushed. You always move at your own pace.
When sessions are hosted at Naala Djookan Healing Centre, they are completely free. This is Sandra's way of making sure that cost is never the reason a woman doesn't walk through the door. Movement, healing, and community should be accessible to every woman who feels called to it โ regardless of where she's at financially.
When Dance to Heal sessions are held at other venues, pricing may vary depending on the space. Any costs will always be communicated clearly and in advance โ no surprises.
